SØKTAS hand blown blown glass lightning

This is such a beautiful and functional glassware. This is my relative Oliver Höglund and Ryan Roberts who are the creative minds behind SØKTAS. The name comes from Norway, where the company’s inception began and where they met. Oliver focuses on creating and designing the unique pieces, while Ryan operates the business; however their brand is a reflection of both their stories and visions. Oliver’s father and grandfather worked at the renowned Kosta Boda Glassworks in Sweden, and the craft has been passed down through the generations.

The skills and techniques learned by Oliver in his 15 years working around the globe have allowed him to perfect his craft and create his own signature style. The process of hand-blowing glass is rigorous and intense, as the molten hot glass is shaped and blown by hand at around 1000° C by Oliver himself. Have a look yourself and see what you think. I personally love this hand blown lighting.

On my wall

I went to a lovely shop in Mapua. I was so tempted to buy this little picture with the lovely colorful Fantail. But way to expensive. In the same shop they sold same image but on an eye glass cloth. Those two cost me only 14 NZD so I bought them and then I had some spare frames that I bought at Farmers on a sale so – voila – I made it myself. Love them.img_2223
